Every once in a while something new comes along that seems really cool. Today as I was perusing the internet I happened upon something called the Civil War Augmented Reality Project. Basically the idea here is to use modern technology to enhance the visitor’s experience to a historic site. The folks who thought this idea up have a blog: http://acwarproject.wordpress.com/ and will do a better job describing this project than I can. I can honestly see some potential here if they get the support to develop their idea. Imagine traveling to a battlefield and while standing in one location also being able to see that location from the enemies side of the field (on an iPhone or tablet). Imagine seeing historical views of your current location to see how the landscape changed over time. The possibilities are endless…
